EMDR - Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing

Do you feel stuck in a trauma loop?

Are they tired of talking about it with no shift in how you react when you do?

If so EMDR could help in these situations.

What is EMDR and how does it work?

When we experience trauma (big or small), the brain doesn’t always process the memory properly. Instead, it gets frozen in time — including the images, body sensations, emotions, and beliefs that came with it.

This can lead to:

  • Flashbacks
  • Panic attacks
  • Overreactions
  • Shame or negative self-beliefs (e.g., “I’m not safe,” “It was my fault”)

EMDR helps the brain "unstick" and reprocess that memory, so it no longer hijacks your present-day life. We are not working to erase the memory but detach it from the emotions.

Does EMDR really work?

Studies show EMDR can bring significant relief in fewer sessions than traditional talking therapy — especially for:

  • PTSD
  • Childhood trauma
  • Anxiety
  • Grief
  • Sexual assault
  • Medical trauma
  • Negative core beliefs (E.G I am not worthy, I am not good enough)

During EMDR we go at your own pace and the number of sessions required depends on the situation/person, I recommend a minimum of 5 sessions.

EMDR is priced at £70 per hour.
